Merit Badge Counselors

Many adults in Troop 25, no matte if they hold a position in the troop or are just participating parents, have registered to be merit badge counselors.

In order for a Scout to earn a merit badge, he must meet the requirements as set down by the Boy Scouts of America and have a registered merit badge counselor sign off that he has earned these requirements. Each merit badge has its own requirements book, and Troop 25 owns a number of these books. See the Librarian for assistance finding a book.

Once all requirements for a badge is earned, the counselor and Scoutmaster must sign a blue card, which is turned into the Advancement Chair to be recorded.

If a Scout wishes to work on a badge and there is no counselor available within Troop 25, he may contact the council office for names of counselors within the district. It is recommended that he have a buddy work with him on the badge.
